Plantain Fritters

This used to be one of my favorite evening snack when I was younger. Our grandma used to make this for my sis & I. It was hot and ready to eat as soon as we reach home from school... Yummy snack :)


Ingredients:
Plantain: 2, sliced in desire length & thickness
All Purpose Flour: 1/2 cup
Sugar: 4 Tbsp
Cumin Powder: 1/2 tsp
Cumin Seeds: 1/2 tsp
Turmeric Powder: 1/4 tsp
Water: Enough to make the batter
Salt: To taste 
Oil: For frying

Method:
  • In a bowl make a batter with flour and water. Make sure the batter is not too thick or too watery
  • Add sugar, salt, turmeric powder, cumin powder, and cumin seeds to the batter
  • Heat oil in a deep pan
  • Dip plantain in the batter and coat well
  • Fry them in hot oil and drain them on a paper towel
Serve hot with tea!!!
