Ginger Garlic Paste

Ginger garlic paste is used a lot in Indian cooking. I prefer making it at home as it is very simple and easy to make with few ingredients. Better than store-bought paste to avoid any added preservatives and much cheaper too. Make a big batch and it should last up to 2-3 months in the refrigerator.  Give this a try....

Ingredients:
Garlic : 1 cup, peeled
Ginger: 1 cup, peeled and cut into small chunks
Oil: 1/4 cup (I used vegetable oil)
Turmeric Powder: 1/2 tsp

Method:
Put the peeled garlic, ginger chunks, oil and turmeric in the blender and blend to a smooth paste. Slowly add more oil if needed. Transfer the paste to a dry, air tight glass jar, top with a tsp of oil, and store it in the refrigerator.

Note: Make sure the blender is dry before making the paste. Use only dry spoon/fork when you get the paste out of the jar.
