Kerala Fish Fry

Fish: 4
Shallots: 2
Ginger: 2” piece
Garlic: 4 cloves
Curry leaves: 1 sprig
Chili Powder: 1 Tbsp
Coriander Powder: 1 Tbsp
Turmeric Powder: 1 tsp
Pepper Powder: 1 tsp
Salt: Enough
Oil: To shallow fry

  • Clean fish thoroughly and make slits on the fish
  • In a blender or food processor blend shallots, ginger, garlic, and curry leaves using very little water
  • Mix all the powders and salt with the shallot paste
  • Marinate fish with the paste for about 3 hours in the fridge
  • Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry on low heat, about 5 minutes on each side or until done
Serve hot with rice :)
